How are you doing peeps hope you had a good weekend, my weekend was an interesting one and an eye opener as well. I was in leeds this weekend and to be specific the Upstairs downstairs club. It was an interesting evening to say the least . I am the first to admit this weekend i wasnt on top form but in my defence the sound system at the club was sick it could do with a bit of tweeking. They had good quality decks that were let down by an amp that clearly was not feeling well and the bar owners could do with adding some monitors for the djs . We still had a good time though . I just hope in future i never work with such sound issues and will make sure my management team double check venues as this one was slightly disappointing. But hey am back at my regular venue with top notch sound . This weekend the pound party is back at the whitebull so let get hammered together mid week .

our own wet summer
hey people how are you doing . I am working hard doing the finishing touches of my very first mixtape. I have resisted the urge for long enough but thought would make one and hopefully will make it a regular thing.
The weather has been bad and most people have been complaining but hey its easier to work when the weather is nough at least am not tempted to go partying .. ha ha ha.
has anyone ever notised the long user agreements that are pretty much poping up in most things. hell you have to agree to so much these days you have to wonder who makes these agreements some of which are so unfair.
I was talking to this upcoming artist who was wondering how come there was free music on my site as he was freighting about copyrights and wanting to get paid. I just explained to him that most artists I know who are struuggling are doing so not because their music is being stolenleft right ad centre from them ie downloaded illegally but because people didnt know who they were hence by giving away some of their music they get more exposure.
I personally think more artists should embrace their fans and if you do a really good job fans will pay for your music even if you dont charge upfront. We can only hope.
Anyway I received an email not so long ago and at the bottom there was this long corporate disclaimer so i decided to add my own here is how it goes.
By opening this email you agree, on behalf of your employer, to release me from all obligations and waivers arising from any and all agreements, licenses, terms-of-service, shrinkwrap, clickwrap, browsewrap, confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-compete and acceptable use policies that I have entered into with your employer, its partners, licensors, agents and assigns, in perpetuity, without prejudice to my ongoing rights and privileges. You further represent that you have the authority to release me from any agreements on behalf of your employer.
will keep you posted on how its received. dont you love the world we live in . ha ha ha.
hey again

How are you people hope you had a good weekend and you are looking forward to another working week . Thank God its sunny and while it must a be a pain to be working in this weather well I guess it has to be done .I had a good and relaxing weekend . I wish
I was just reviewing some music released lately but some of the lyrics seem to be very very graphic . I very much welcome the
trend of releasing two version one dirty and the other clean . I love hip hop and rap but some of the lyrics mean it has to be difficult to play to certain crowds who might not be too comfortable with such levels of profanities. I am not one to pussy foot round lyrics but some of the lyrics are just too graphic which brings me to my next point surely there are word that could be used to express yourself without resorting to such profanities as one pissed off old man once said " why do you speak such bad words" surely we can spare people the blushing . It also limits the level of exposure
music gets hence the clean version a must have if you decide to have an overly graphic song.
Lately someone asked me why i dont put venues i will be playing at on my blog well I believe this is not the place to state where I am or not but never the less will start giving you guys a heards up on where i will be playing . For starters most of you know I am at the whitebull in blackburn every wednesday showcasing the very best of urban classics along side metalman and other guest djs we have from time to time .
It looks like hip hop is taking over the summer festivals this summer with Kanye headlining another festival . It looks like hip hop is trully main stream now
and that is where it has to stay .I am very much loving the emerging talent that is coming up with off the hook flow these guys can spit. Jay Z seems to be rapping like ever before although he is not releasing albums the quantity of songs he seems to be featuring in seems to be increasing more than ever which makes me wonder What happened to retirement ? was that just a way of having a farewell tour without actually leaving ? I will ask he and find out ? Then again this being the hip hop world might just start so beef hell everyone else seems to be having beef with someone . It never ceases to amaze me the quantity of videos of people mouthing off that are released every week.

Its been a busy couple of weeks and as I had some free time last FridayI took time to look at how hip hop has evolved over the years as well as the people singing it . Mary J Blige was one artist who has definately evolved and her music in a way expressed what was going on
in her personal life and the way it has evolved from some sad songs to some happy songs.
The artists singing hip hop and rnb have evolved artists like usher started when they were teenagers and they are grown men now
the music shows that maturity.
I have been impressed by the way hip hop has moved from being a very small music niche into the main stream .It has had its fair share of critics
along the way. I am very frustrated with people with backward thinking who look at hip hop and rnb artists as inferior to rockers or other genres.
I think this debate was brought to the fore front when Jay Z was asked to headline Glastonbury. I was so glad he gave the amazing performance that he did it sure did silence the critics. It also moved hip hop into a whole new spectrum which can only be a good thing .
the urban culture in general has come a long way and will continue to evolve and the understanding of it sure seems to grow which can only be a good thing.
Enough of me going on . Hope you had a good partying couple of weeks. For those that were at the Whitebull last Wednesday thank you for the support and I am going to keep playing the very best in hip hop every Wednesday.
see you next weekend ad hey if you do make it come and say hi. If you want to request anything before hand hit me up and will definately make sure you have a good time .
peace...........................
